Who wants Chanel when you can have a house-cleaner?

I read recently that there is a new trend just around the corner.. The experts are saying that the definition of ‘Luxury’ is changing. Once upon a time ‘Luxury’ was typically known as designer goods, expensive goods, something a little opulent and slightly extravagant. Nowadays, ‘Luxury’ means different things to different people. We can’t agree more and we are pretty confident that plenty of mums agree with us.

Some of us just want more time, a little extra help all-round, five minutes of piece and quiet or freedom to follow our dreams. While I wouldn’t say no to a Chanel hand-bag, I would appreciate a fortnightly house-cleaner so much more, even though the cleaner for a year would be a third of the price of a designer bag.

Holidays are approaching and I am looking forward to my luxury; having a day to myself (my goodness, imagine the silence) to go for a coffee (without sharing the choc froth with anyone), a work-out at the gym (to feel a bit more like a yummy mummy because my butt is temporarily firmer), and to make a slow-cooked (spending more than 12 minutes), nutritious (actually using decent, fresh ingredients) family meal (all of us WILL eat at the same time for a change) to enjoy in the backyard (I forgot we had).

The cost of my luxury will be around $26 bucks. The rewards for me, priceless. I feel healthy, rejuvenated, happy and relaxed.  Not convinced a Chanel bag could have the same effect – but ask me again on another day!
